Solar Energy: A Free Energy Source

Choosing solar energy can be one of the best ways to reduce the costs of energy consumption. It is a fact that the cost of energy doubles every decade. This is why solar energy is a smart thing to look into. You'll learn some of the ins and outs of solar energy by reading this article.

Many people assume that installing solar panels requires a major remodeling of their home. You can make good use of solar energy with simple systems like standalone outdoor lighting. These lights stay on all night and then recharge the following day.

You have to think about whether or not solar energy is a good choice for your home. There are several things to consider. Remote locations without a utility grid connection are prime solar energy sites. It is also a good choice if you are environmentally conscious.

Don't let a pushy salesperson make your decisions for you, especially where solar energy upgrades are concerned. Do your research before even setting foot in the store. Purchasing in response to pressure tactics is a recipe for disaster.

You can get hefty credits from the government if you switch to solar energy. You may receive upwards of thirty percent off the price of your system. Just look online to find more information on the subject, or you could contact the local representative.

Make sure your panels will be efficient throughout the year. To figure out where to place your panels, you may need to keep an eye on the sun's path each day, and think about if this will change in a different season.

Your heating bill will be lower if you install solar panels that are photovoltaic on your house or use water heating that's solar. Photovoltaic panels are most effective in regions that have a minimum of 5 continuous hours of sunlight. Heating through solar-powered water can cut swimming pool heating costs.

If you're building a home from the ground up, you should definitely consider using solar energy for its power source. Solar energy produces power, and it has little effect on the environment. If you haven't thought about it before, you should definitely do a little research.

You may want to start out buying only a few panels to save money. Have an expert do an audit of what your energy usage is. This can give you a good idea of whether you are wasting money or not. This may reduce the number of solar panels that you'll need to install.

Start looking at the weather if you are thinking about solar panels. Solar panels that are of high quality are going to create enough energy that can run your home if the panels are in the sun for about five hours a day. Look elsewhere if inclement weather conditions dominate your area.

Life can improve and the planet can be saved by those who use solar energy. Hopefully now that you have read this article you have been made aware of the many benefits of going green and switching to solar power. However, there is a lot more you need to know about solar energy and you should do more research on this topic before deciding to invest in solar panels.

Sault Ste Marie

“Of course, there’s some of that,” she said. “Broken fences, a sex-crazed ram, ruined crops. But it’s also about the cultural milieu of the 1970s and my own personal conflicts.” As she and her husband adjusted to their new lives near Echo Bay, Ontario, their fantasies of pastoral serenity clashed with reality when visions of a goat in the pasture morphed into a dead cow in the barn. The arrogance of book-knowledge butted heads with old-fashioned, hands-on competence when their first hay crop nearly burned down the barn. And traditional middle-class measures of success battled counter-culture and feminist alternatives as Dunning struggled with her emerging self-image as “just” a farm wife. “People say the book makes them laugh and cry. That’s just perfect,” said Dunning. “That’s life.” After her stint as a farm wife, Dunning was a freelance writer and editor until her recent retirement. From 2000 to 2012, she was the editor of Education Canada, the flagship publication of the Canadian Education Association. Since retirement, she has turned her hand to memoir, essays, and short fiction. Her essays have been aired on CBC radio’s The Sunday Edition, and her short fiction has appeared in the literary journals Agnes and True and La Presa. She lives in Echo Bay, Ontario. Author Bill Roorbach had this to say about “Shifting Currents”: “Beautifully written, by turns wry and poignant, “Shifting Currents” turns a landscape into a heartscape you will never forget.” Poet Lilly Barnes called it “a memoir that reads like a novel with prose so clean it sparkles.” Both of the authors’ books will be available for purchase and signing at the library talk, which begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Sault Area Hospital Foundation Tree of Hope is up and collecting messages. Donations come from across the Algoma District to help purchase medical equipment for the hospital and, along with many of these donations, come “messages of hope,” the foundation said in a release. Messages are displayed on ornaments and placed on the tree from now until after Christmas. Ornaments are already starting to fill up the tree, the foundation said. Donations can be made in honour of a family member, client, customer, friend, teacher, neighbour, hospital staff member, physician or volunteer.  Gifts can also be made in memory of someone. A card will be sent to notify a person of your choice of your donation and indicate your choice to support local health care. To make a donation, call 705)-759-3848, visit the foundation office, located behind the information desk in SAH’s main lobby, or visit the hospital’s website (www.sahfoundation.com/treeofhope). Patients, family members and those visiting Sault Area Hospital, are encouraged to read messages. “The tree is meant to reflect the hope and joy we all feel this time of year. The messages we place on the Tree of Hope are directly from the hearts of people that care about our community. They donate to support healthcare but also want to spread hope this time of year,” says Cheryl Pavoni, foundations executive director. Along with the hope shared on ornaments, donors “find joy” in knowing they are helping purchase medical equipment needed to provide “excellent” care to patients, the foundations said. The foundation fundraises throughout the year to purchase equipment, such as fetal telemetry monitors and anesthesia care stations.
